For all the guitarists and musicians in the world?

yesterday i got a new telecaster, a cheap one but i adjusted the pickup, lowered the action and changed the strings and now it has a really good sound to it I have a Fender strat as well and there is not much difference in the sound (well not 700 pounds of difference any ways) My tele is so easy to play and looks amazing. my question is are we paying that extra 700 pounds just for the fender logo?. (I've have been playing for about 5 years now and have an ibanez, takamine acoustic and fender strat) i don't the sound is terribly better on my fender strat than my tele. so are we paying that extra 700 pounds just for the fender logo? or do you think there is a significant difference?
