My friend's date bit my earring! Is he flirting with me?

My best friend Chloe got a date with this really really exquisite hot guy known and "hippie" (for obvious reasons i.e. tie dye and hemp necklace). So my friend invited everyone to hang out so it wouldn't be so awkward and so that i could give my approval and evaluation. The event was nice and he is sooo a good guy for her. Hippie cuddled with Chloe throughout the movie. Later when Chloe had to depart home he stuck around with the rest of us. We were hanging out normally but the Hippie randomly came over to me and bit my earring. Out of reflex i giggled because of the awkwardness then he smiled at me. plz tell me he isn't flirting with me....
