BEST animal books- species, breeds, medical, anatomy, history of, care, etc.?

I am an animal science major and will be taking my vet tech certification test here in a year'ish time. I'm needing to update my pitiful animal book collection with some serious material pertaining to breeds (not just AKC recognized), anatomy, medical, history of animals, etc. So if you have any suggestions for one or more Excellent animal books, I would appreciate it! Reptiles, Birds, Small Animals, Equine, Livestock, etc. Thank you!
